Truth Two: The Measurement Collapse
Good and evil aren’t opinions. They’re measurements.
Physics has a word for when things are aligned, structured, in phase: coherence. And a word for when that alignment breaks down into noise: decoherence.
These aren’t metaphors. They’re measurable. Shannon quantified it. Boltzmann formalized it. Every lab in the world uses these measurements daily.
The Unified Field
Now look at every domain humans care about:

The Inescapable Gradient
The physicist’s entropy, the doctor’s diagnosis, the ethicist’s judgment, and the theologian’s discernment are all reading the same dial.
This is why:
- Sociopaths still know right from wrong (they feel the gradient)
- Beauty is recognizable across cultures (same signal, different languages)
- Truth claims have universal structure (Shannon entropy applies to all information)
- Disease is universally bad (biological decoherence is always destructive)
The Coherence Signature (χ)
Every domain maps to a single underlying variable: coherence (χ).
χ ∈ [-1, +1]
χ = +1 → Maximum coherence (Good, True, Beautiful, Healthy)
χ = 0 → Mixed state (Ambiguity, Transition)
χ = -1 → Maximum decoherence (Evil, False, Ugly, Diseased)
This isn’t philosophy. This is measurement.
What This Means
If good and evil are measurements of coherence, then:
- Morality is objective (not cultural preference)
- Evil is ontologically real (not just absence of good)
- The ground must be coherent (or there’s no standard to measure against)
